Holiday Time

The holiday's are here, it's so exciting! We love the holidays, especially Christmas time.
This year we are going to Salamanca, New York. If you don't know where that is... then freshen up on your geography! We are going to spend the holiday's with Mike's family. He hasn't seen them in over 2 years. So he is really excited about going home.
Last year Mike told me Christmas was not the same without snow. I on the other hand, snow or no snow Christmas is the same to me.
We are so excited! We know that his family is really excited about seeing us for Christmas. This visit will be the first time Mike's family & I meet. Finally after almost a year of being married.

The New Addition To The Living Room

The new addition to the living room happens to be a Christmas gift from Mike. Its a Chaise Lounge the color is bergundy.

Gibberish & Somewhat Of An Update

Alright, some people have been asking me to post up photo's of Mike's & my little home. Instead, I'm going to try and post a video... it's easier than taking a bunch of photos, but you have to have patince!
In other news. I got a job... at Abercrombie & Fitch. I start on Monday, I'm really excited! Mike, has been pretty busy with work. Yesterday we went hiking, it was so tiring, but if that's what it takes to stay in shape, OK.
This Friday is kind of important to Mike & I... this Friday will make it a year since we have been together. It's kind of weird looking back on all the time that has gone by, but very exciting at the same time.
Thanksgiving is next Thursday and I'm so stoked about it. Mike & I are really happy... its our, I think 3rd holiday together since we have been married. Anyway!
I know, that this post was just a bunch of nonsense. But since I haven't written anything in awhile, it was kind of necessary. Thank you lovely blogger's for reading my blog though it was just gibberish. The next blog will not be this way, promise!
Have a splendid evening!

Our Pumpkins

Mike & I Craved pumpkins on Saturday. We had such a good time craving the pumpkins. And we roasted the seed's, they were yummy.
Mike's is the Headless Horse Man and mine is the Wicked Tree

My pumpkin was the first one I have ever craved. So I jokingly told Mike he popped my pumpkin cherry. He thought it was hilarious.

Back In San Diego

Well, we are back in San Diego. It's really nice being back.

We got in Oct. 12th... the flight was so long from Costa Rica to here. Our plane in Newark, New Jersey was delayed almost 2 hours, but at least we got back to San Diego.

Mike's week in Costa Rica was a lot of fun and it went by really fast. I'll post some photo's up from that week.

Our apartment is so cute... We almost have all of our furniture. We live in Mission Valley now, so that is really cool. I'll post some photo's up of our little home soon.

There has been wild fires all around us, we have not been bothered from the fire's, but there are a lot of people who have. The Qualcom Stadium, which is right down the road has been taking people in that have fled their houses because of the fire's. And need somewhere to go. The Red Cross has collected $9.5 million in donations to help during this crisis.

USS Peleliu Is Home

May 23, 2007...The USS Peleliu (LHA-5) deployed on a four month humanitarian cruise. On board was my husband ABH3 Osborne, Michael and a few friends. On the deployment they stopped at several countries: Guam, Philippines, Vietnam, Papau New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Marshall Islands. Where they help rebuild and paint school and children homes. The ship took 1,000 civilian doctors and dentist to assist those in need. Gave the local doctors medical supplies and taught personal hygiene to all the locals. They also stopped of in Hawaii twice. At the beginning and at the end of the deployment.

September 20, 2007...After enduring a long four month of water, foreign languages and costumes. They are finally home. A warm and friendly welcome back home was given. All the sailors are happy to be back to their semi-normal life styles. Where they can drive around, they don't have curfew and where everyone speaks English. Friends and families are so thankful and very happy to have the ones they love home ones more.

Passport...

Finally! Mike received his passport in the mail today; we only had to wait 2 months. So now it official, Mike will be flying to Costa Rica in 11 days. Its very thrilling! Four months is to long to be away from anyone you truly love.
I just want to think everyone that was praying that Mike would receive his passport. Thank You!

Blonde Joke

This is a dedicated blonde joke to my Mother, who oh so happens to be a blonde. I love you Mama!!

A blonde enters a store that sells curtains. She tells the salesman, "I would like to buy a pair of pink curtains."

The salesman assures her that they have a large selection of pink curtains. He shows her several patterns, but the blonde seems to have a hard time choosing.

Finally she selects a lovely pink floral print. The salesman then asks what size curtains she needs.

The blonde promptly replies, "Fifteen inches."

"Fifteen inches?" asked the salesman. "That sounds very small - what room are they for?"

The blonde tells him that they aren't for a room, but they are for her computer monitor.

The surprised salesman replies, "But miss, computers do not need curtains!"

The blond says, "Hellllooooooooo! I've got Windoooooows!"

September 11th

For many people September 11th is a very sad day. The people who died in the World Trade Centers, didn't even know what hit them till it was to late. Fireman and police officers and rescue teams, lost their lives trying to save the lives of people they didn't even know. Today is a day of sorrow and turmoil. A day of remembrance to those who died in the attack and for those who died serving their country & people. There are families who are mourning over their loved ones. Because today there is sadness and remembrance.

Even though, today is that day. It is a day of happiness. Today was my brothers 19th birthday, I'm thankful that he gets to be a year older and he gets to see more of the world. And today a new addition to the Osborne family was born. Mike's brother & his wife had their first baby today. A boy, 6lbs. 2 oz., born this morning at 8:01. Unfortunately, Mike's brother was not able to be there, for the birth of his baby boy. Just like so many other Americans, he is serving his country.

Today was the worse day of 2001. But out of the worse events in the world, always comes something beautiful. Evil is always overcomes by good!

New Addition To The Osborne Family

My sister in law Anhelica is due September 24. Which everyone is very excited about! Mike is going to be an uncle so he is very happy. I found out this morning throw Mother that they are going to induce Anhelica on September 19, due to her diabetes. Anhelica's husband is getting ready for a deployment, he is not really home. But they are hoping since he is still in the states, he will get to he the birth or at least get to hold his son. Baby Oz name is Alaxander Joaquin. I love that name!
I bet you all were thinking... OMG Becca's pregnant!!! I mean I would probably break the new to everyone in a blog, but I'm not that mean! Even though it would be a lot easier then calling everyone I know. What a lovely thought.

Panama Trip and Deployment

So this past week, my parents, a friend Julie & I went to Boca del Toro Panama. If you don't know where that is I suggest you find a global map and look it up. Anyways, it was a very good trip. It was really hot and stuff, but very enjoyable! You could not drink the water, nor rinse your mouth out with faucet water... for various reasons. We went to this really awesome beach, it's called Red Frog... know fact: there are red poisonous frogs near the beach area. It was pretty cool, or at least I thought so. OMG, a soda pop was like .65 USA cents, I was so snappin' about that! We got to ride in boats everywhere... to get to one island to the other, it was very exciting! All in all, I had a good time in Panama!
Well, deployment is almost up, which I am very thankful for. I know Mike is totally excited and is pretty much counting down the days, which I am also doing. The ship has about 2 more stops before they pull into San Diego. Four months, has not really seemed that long... it has actually gone by pretty fast. Mike still has not gotten his passport, they just got mail too... he is very worried. And I might have to order a new one for him... which is not a problem, we just really did not want to do that. But everything else is wonderful. We are both totally and completely excited about being together after so long! So that makes everything a lot brighter in our lives!!

Short Update...

Alright, so it has been a while since we last posted. Lets see, Mike turned 21 years on Tuseday. Which is pretty cool. I still have aways to go till I'm 21. Mike is almost home, so I'm like jumping for joy! I know both of our families are pretty happy that he will be home soon.
Umm... Mike still has not gotten his passport, we are alittle worried about that. But we are pretty sure it will show up any minute. I called the passport angency and the post office it should have already gotten to him or at least it should be on it's way. So we are just waiting, going to see if he gets it any time soon.
On the blogger, I update the sliding picture thingy from rock you. Its no longer a blog, because we keep adding new pictures to it... but it is at the bottom of our page. And there is music that goes along with the slide show, which makes it seem so beautiful.
I have been working on a quilt with my Mother, it looks nice. We got one side of it finished, now all that is left to do is the padding part and the bottom. Its called a granny squar quilt. It has a lot of different colors, its really pretty!
That is the update so far. As you know I can't tell you where Mike is at, all I can say is that he is almost home. Which is every exciting!

Phone Call & More...

Well, Mike called me this morning. I was so excited & happy! It's been a month or more since I last heard his voice. We had a really good talk! The time difference is a little confusing... we are between 14 to 16 hours of difference. This morning, he wasn't even sure what day it was, lol. The days don't really matter when you are on deployment. Because you work all 7 days & about 12 hours everyday. They have hit their mid-point mission, which mean they are half way done with their humanitarian deployment and will be home soon. Mike will be back in San Diego in 53 days. Then 15 days later, we will finally be together! Its going to be wonderful to see him, hold him and kiss him again. haha, my Dad told me, he would go by himself to pick Mike up at the airport. Dad said he would gladly meet Mike with a baseball bat... haha. I told Mike about that, all Mike did was laugh and said that would be the cutest thing to see! Of course, I know my Dad would never do that, but I have been thinking about how funny it will be if he did. I just can't wait to see my husband again!

Update On Life

Well, it has been almost a month since my last blog. I just haven't had anything to write about. My life is not very interesting at the moment. And I can not say where Mike has been, where he is at or where he is off to next. After he left Hawaii, I was no longer allowed to say anything. These pass weeks have gone by so fast. The day for Mike & I to be together again is coming up so quickly. He and I are both amazed and very happy. We are hoping that time will keep moving along and maybe go by a little faster. Mike has been thinking about re-enlisting, but he's not for certain just yet. As a good husband would he asked my opinion about it and how I would feel. I told him, that he knows I'm with him 100%, no matter what he decides. I know that my opinion, thoughts & feeling matter in the decision of him staying in... but he will always have to make the last say in it. I told him I would be alright with it, so now he is really considering it! I know that he will stay in, just because I know him. On other news... we are having a team of 8 people come to Costa Rica. They are a puppet team for VBS (Vacation Bible School), they'll be here for 2 weeks. I know while they are here time will fly by pretty fast. Since those 2 weeks are going to be packed with a lot of busy stuff. In case you what to know how long Mike & I have been married and the bottom of this page is a counter up. It will tell you how long we have been married. And there is also a count down, for how many days there are left till Mike is back from his deployment. So enjoy!

...Where My Heart Is & Who My Heart Belongs To...

...My Heart Is On The USS Peleliu...
...My Sailor Is A Fireman... All The Flight Deck Fireman...
...My Sailor Playing Guitar Hero's... His On A Little Break...
...The Beautiful Sunset At Sea...

Hello & Good Bye

On May 29, Mike & the ship arrived in Oahu. He had duty the following day, he said it was alright... that we did not mind it so much. I was just so happy because Mike & I got to talk on the phone... not a lot of course. I just longed to hear his voice, so I did not mind when our phone calls lasted only 10 minutes. His last day in Oahu... him & some of his buddies went to North Shore to snorkel. Mike said he saw turtles and it was really cool. I am so happy that Mike was allowed off the ship & I am so happy he had a really good time in Oahu.
Today... June 1, they are sailing back out to the ocean blue! I do know where they are headed, but for safety reasons I am not allowed to disclose that information. I will keep you up to date with what I am allowed to say, which is not a whole lot! I just ask you all to pray for him & the rest of the ship.

You know your soldier/sailor is deployed when......

1. You wear old sweatpants and sweatshirts to bed.

2. You can watch whatever you want on TV without arguing with him first

3. You get up in the middle of the night to check your e-mail.

4. You sleep with your cell phone incase he calls in the middle of the night.

5. You love watching cute love movies because it reminds you of all the cute things he does when he's home.

6. You haven't shaved your legs in weeks.

7. The mailman knows you because you are always out waiting for him to come.

8. You start paying close attention in class when the words "military" or "iraq" are mentioned.

9. You suddenly have an obsession with anything military related.

10. You see someone wearing an army, navy, or usmc shirt and you get this overwhelming urge to talk to them.

11. You make friends with strangers online just because they are in the same situation as you and are the only ones that can truly understand what you are going through.

12. You can't decide what to wear when you meet him at the airport because his flight comes in at a ridiculous hour in the morning and you want to look cute, but not too cute, because your cutest outfit you want to save for your first full day together.

13. Your first Christmas together is... apart.

14. You find yourself checking your e-mail every fifteen minutes.

15. You know all the time differences between where you are and Iraq, Ireland, Kuwait, Italy, Germany, Korea, and every state in the U.S.

16. The highlight of your day is getting a letter that was mailed a month ago.

17. And if you don't get a letter, the highlight of your day is writing him a letter that you know he will be able to read in a month.

18. You realize that HOMECOMING is so much more than a football game.

19. You want to hit any happy couple you see together

20. You get excited about "unknown" phone numbers calling you.

21. You've exhausted every idea a brain could have of what to put in a box.

22. You see a "support our troops" sticker on a car when you are stuck in traffic and you find yourself guessing about who they know that is deployed and thinking about their entire life story.

23. When the clock says 11:11, you find yourself wishing for the same thing every time: a call from your soldier/sailor.

24. You get excited when its only 5 months until you see your Soldier instead of 7!

25. You can't stand girls that talk about missing their boyfriends who live a few hours away. You just want to yell "drive and go see them, then" because if you had the chance, you would jump on the first plane to go see your soldier/sailor no matter how far it is.

26. You don't know what teams are on top for football, basketball, etc.

27. You wouldn't dream of walking out of the house without the cell phone and every number you have is forwarded to that cell.

28. You find yourself randomly crying from just looking at a picture of the two of you together.

29. You find yourself randomly crying and you sometimes have no idea why.

30. You stay on the internet for hours searching for anything and everything about the military.

31. You talk to your friends about him so much that they know his full name, birthday and how great of a guy he is.

Mike's Deployment

Today at 9 am Mike's ship deployed out on the humanitarian cruise. The deployment is only 121 days long, its not as long as his last one. Mike told me that when they are out there they don't even know what day it is, because they wake up, work, eat, shower, got to bed and repeat the same thing everyday that they are out. Of course some people keep a log or count down the days. But most of them don't because it to hard for them to think about. Being away from family, is really hard on alot of them! What Mike does when he is out is he works out alot. Because it keeps him busy and helps him not think about how far away he is from the ones he loves or how much longer the deployment is.
But when you wake up at 6 in the morning every day and you sit around in the hot sun waiting for aircrafts to crash and you don't get off your shift tilll 9 or later... life pretty much sucks for them! Don't get me wrong, Mike has told me that deployment is not all that bad. When the ship pulls into a port that they can get out on the town they enjoy that. Especially if they can find a place where they can call their family. They also go shopping!
So not everything about the deployment is totally bad. Just the fact that snail mail is slow, they hardly get to check their e-mail and they work really hard when they are out. Mike and I are hoping that deployment fly's by super fast. We miss each other and can not wait to be together again!

Costa Rica

I got in last night. It was an alright flight I suppose. It was 3 hours from San Diego to Houston, I had a 3 hour lay over and it was about 3 hours & 30 minutes from Houston to San Jose. I was so tired when I got in! But at least I got to talk to Mike, I was so happy! Of course I started to cry... but it was so worth it.
Mike leaves on deployment on Wed. He's not that excited about it. But he'll be happy when he pulls into ports and finds a place to call me or check his e-mail or whatever he can't do on the ship.
Yes we are counting down the days... haha... 138 days till we see each other again. It will go by fast I know that. I have a really good feeling!!

Costa Rica & Deployment

Tomorrow is a big day for Mike & I. I am leaving to Costa Rica for about 4 to 5 months. I'm really excited, but at the same time really sad. Mike is not coming to Costa Rica with me, instead he is going on a 4 month deployment. Mike leaves on the 23rd, which is in what 3 days. I could tell you what Mike is going to be doing on his deployment, but all I can tell you is that it is an humanitarian cruise. I'll be helping my parents out with their minestry for 4 to 5 months. Honestly, Mike & I are hoping that these months away from each other will go by super fast. After Mike comes back from his deployment he will be coming down to Costa Rica for about 1 week. Pretty much so he can meet my Dad, see my home and to fly with me back to San Diego. For those who read this blog, please just pray for Mike & I.

Road Trip!!

Day 1 - (May 2, 07)
Today we drove up to see my sister Eden and her little family. The drive was about 7 hours long. It was so much fun! I of course had to sing off key and at the top of my lungs, lol. Mike of course would then turn on the radio and try to drown my awful singing out.
On the way up to see Eden & the family, we saw 3 different car accidents, an elderly person driving down the wrong side of the highway (who got pulled over by a cop), lots of cows, horse's and a few goats. We finally arrived at my sisters around 4:30 pm. Mike got to meet my sister Eden, my brother in law Steve & my precious little niece Olyvia. Olyvia turned 1 years old about 1 month ago.. so Mike & I bought her this really cute piggy bank!
Day 2 - (May 3, 07)
Well, Mike and I have been married 2 months today! Its pretty cool!! We went to the pool for a little bit.. It was was cold out, but thank heavens the pool was heated. Olyvia loves the pool. She was all excited and happy. Mike, is a great swimmer. And he likes jumping in the the pool and making a big splash, which by the way made Olyvia laughed! Eden spent her time taking pictures. Me on the other had.. I can't swim!I guess you can say I almost drowned, but since Mike is in the navy and a really good swimmer, well he saved me. He picked me up a throw me to the shallow side. Its nice when your prince charming knows how to swim! After the pool, we watched Spider Man 1 & 2, since 3 is coming out... Mike wanted to re watch 1 & 2. So we did!
Day 3 - (May 4, 07)
Today Mike & I drove back to San Diego. We stopped of in Oxnard, its about 3 hours from San Diego. We visited his brother Jeff for about an hour. We had dinner together and socialized. This time on the way back to San Diego, Mike & I got to see 2 car accidents... and because of one of those accidents we got stuck in a 1 hour & 30 minute traffic jam! Finally we got home around 10:30 at night. We were so tired we just passed out! So that is the lovely tale of our first road trip together as a married couple!

Don't Make Plans!

Well, we had originally planned to see my sister and her family while Mike is on leave. Then we decided to go to NY, to visit Mikes family. Which now, we are doing neither. We decided just to sit back and relax here in San Diego. We are not sure what we want to do for 10 days. But we'll figure it out... as we always do. So far this is all that is going on in out little lives! Oh, I will be writing a quote every week... so enjoy!

Division Pic-nic

Today we went to a division pic-nic. The division was the flight deck. It was alright! It was around 10 in the morning and a little chilly out. I was not hungry. Mike on the other hand... well, when is he not hungry, lol! The sun finally came out and it was not hot, but very nice. That was pretty much our excitement for the day.

Pre-Deployment Brief

Today we went to this meeting. It was for active duty and their spouses. Honestly it was a little boring. But it was a good meeting. It was basically so we known how to contact our men/woman when they go on deployment. They told us when they're leaving and coming home. It was very informative.

Our Beginning

I met Michael in October. I invited him to my Halloween party. The funny thing was, he came as a psycho killer and I was a cop. We started dating on November 16, 2006. Almost two months later on January 6, 2007; Mike & I were sitting on a pic-nic table by the bay watching the sun go down. When he asked me to marry him; I said YES!!! We were so excited and happy about this. But we couldn't decide on a date. And we had no idea how to tell either of our parents, but we finally did. We told our parents and decided on a date. On March 3, 2007; Mike & I got married. It was a beautiful ceremony and it was small too. We got married on a sailboat out on the San Diego Harbor Bay. Almost 2 months later and we are still the happiest couple I know! We don't argue and fight, we both think its stupid and ridiculous. Mainly because we hate fighting and arguing. But as every normal couple we do pick at each other.
Mike is in the navy. He's basically a fireman on the ship. He works on the flight deck; he waits for aircraft's to crash and when they do he gets on his fire suit and runs into the burning aircraft. To put the fire out and to save whoever he can! Mike works really hard. His my love & my hero!!
Me... Well, I was going to the Art Institute of California - San Diego. I was studying to be a chef. I decided that I would take time off from school. But I'll be starting back up in about one month. But at the moment I'm kind of a house wife. Its not horribly bad, but you get really bored after awhile, lol!! So far this is it, we don't do much. We go to the beach, we work out, we hang out with friends and we go ballroom dancing together. Its wonderful!!
