Nevaeh's Nook

Our baby girls nook. Instead of calling it the nursery or bedroom, we like the word nook. Because its a small little corner room without a door... its suppose to be the din or office, but we wanted our Nevy to have a little place all to herself. What can I say, our children are spoiled! Please enjoy the photos of Nevy's nook.

The letters are painted yellow & rose; the theme color.
Baby girls crib. Mike picked out the fitted sheet, its busy with flowers. And my Mom crotchet the blanket that's on the side of the crib.
YES, changing table! Kaiden didn't have one and I regret it now. Because my back was killing me; always having to bend down at our bed, couch or floor just so I could change him. So Mike made me super-duper happy by buying the changing table that I wanted. The little bird houses on the wall my Mom painted for Nevys' nook. Theme was bird houses & birdies.
You see that musical globe on the changing table?? Miss Marlene gave that to me when I was about 10 years old. It plays "As Time Goes By" and it has birdies in it and birdhouses, it insinuates Nevy's nook so well.
More birdhouses courtesy of my Mom and Nevy's first Bible; a pink Precious Moments Bible. The toy box is filled with blankets, bibs & burp cloths. Kaiden put the sheep on the toy box and said it was for baby.

This Past Week

Last week while visiting with Mike's family up north. Mike went bow hunting with his Dad and uncle Tom. Sadly Mike did not get the chance to kill a deer, which he is still bummed out about. But there is always next year! Anyway, Mike did enjoy being in the woods and having that man and nature bonding time that he loves so much. He got to see a few good bucks.
Mike practising in the back yard.

Well one evening while Mike was practising shooting his bow, his uncle Tom was over and taught Kaiden the cutest thing, its called SUPER BOY; which consists of jumping and placing your hands on your hips while yelling out "SUPER BOY"... Kaiden couldn't really master the whole thing. But his version is way cuter.

As you can tell from the video, Kaiden got a little excited. I was squatting down to record him doing SUPER BOY and Kaiden got so excited that he jumped on me and we fell to the ground. It was the funniest thing ever!

We had a very nice, but short visit. Mike was getting disappointed being out in the woods for 8 hours and not killing anything, plus I had a doctors appt. on that Friday. But we got to visit with everyone!

Baby Shower - Nevaeh Isabella

ITS A GIRL!
Well, the baby shower has come and gone! I put alot of time and effort into making the baby shower special. Being as this will be my last baby shower, EVER. I made the invitations and thank you cards all by hand.
I spent a lot of time on everything. But nothing really seemed perfect. No family came and of course being new to our town doesn't help out with the guest list either. Only a couple of my new friends could make it, which I'm just glad that someone could come and have brunch with us and celebrate the up coming arrival of Nevaeh. I "decorated" a little and made really good brunch food, such as...

Mini quiche.

Mini peach cobblers.

Chicken salad on crescents.
Sugar cookies.

Chocolate cake.

The Yummy Food and the island all decorated up.

I sent out invitation to really good friends, even though I knew they would not be able to make it, since they are on the West coast. But I just wanted them to feel like a part of this important day. Which a lot of them did!
Even though our family and wonderful friends could not make it, I wish they had. I bet they would have had a great time! Kaiden and Mike enjoyed themselves, which I'm truely happy about.

Bunco Night

Once a month a group of crazy military wives get together to play bunco. If you have never played bunco before you should really play it. Last night was my first time to ever play it. You know how men have poker night, well I guess we woman have bunco night. It was a lot of fun. We had great food, wonderful company and we even got wild and crazy with yelling. There was even a theme; ugliest sweater, big wildest 80's hair do and 80's make-up. Here I am all dressed up for my monthly fun night out with the lady's! I bought this sweater for a dollar at the thrift store in town... Its not really ugly, but the material is horrible; itchy and really hot.
